TANAP PROJECT PROCEEDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SCHEDULE

Constituting the Turkish section of the Southern Gas Corridor, which is designed to transport Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe, the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project’s construction works continue as scheduled. The foundation-laying ceremony of the Project was held on March 17, 2015 in the Selim district of Kars and was attended by the Presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The pipes, which have been manufactured for the project’s 56-inch part extending from the Georgian border to Eskişehir, are being delivered to work sites of the project which will run across Turkey on a 1,850-km line. The first batch of the pipes was previously delivered to pipe storage areas in work sites built along the TANAP route. Shipping continues rapidly and meticulously by land and rail road in accordance with the construction stages.

Supply contracts of 56-inch and 48-inch pipes, 80\% of which have been manufactured by Turkish firms for a total of 1,850 kilometers, were signed with 4 firms/consortiums including six Turkish manufacturers in October 2014 in Ankara at a ceremony attended by Prof. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey.
