CONSTRUCTION WORKS OF THE TANAP PROJECT CONTINUE APACE

The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Project, which aims to transport natural gas from the Shah Deniz-II field in the Caspian Sea as well as from other fields in the southern part of the Caspian Sea to Turkey and Europe, proceeds as scheduled.

Top soil scraping works have been completed in the 56-inch section extending from the Georgian border to Eskişehir. The total length of the TANAP Project will be 1,850 kilometers, 19 kilometers of which will run submerged in the Marmara Sea.

The foundation-laying ceremony of the TANAP Project, which constitutes the Southern Gas Corridor together with the South Caucasian Pipeline (SCP) and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), was held in Selim District of Kars on March 17, 2015 and was attended by the Presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
